Hotmail account hacking

Jeana's hotmail account was hacked by spammers. They promptly blasted everyone in her address book with spam directing them to a Chinese ecommerce site that looks distinctly shady. If you use hotmail you should definitely be sure your password is up to snuff, and perhaps you should consider switching to another provider (though for all I know yahoo and gmail are also vulnerable). One hotmail annoyance, when Jeana tried to send out an apology email to people on her contact list she was told that she had sent too many message for a 24 hour period! Fortunately she was able to get the emails out.

The other good news is that the spammer site seems to be out of service; someone reported it perhaps.

P.S. A shout out to all my loyal readers on RSS!

Who was Tim Russert?

It has been a while since I had a TV, and back then used it mostly for DVDs and Nature shows. Usually this is not a big deal, I can get the news from a paper (Love the Wall Street Journal) or the internet. Between the weather and politics there is plenty to talk about besides what is on TV. Occasionally the New Yorker has an article about current shows with enough information not to be completely out of touch. So it seems that nothing is lost by not watching.

Then Tim Russert dies, and everyone is talking about it, and all I can remember is that he asked Obama a tough question once, and that I think he wrote a book about his Dad.
